Swank Cloud Platform is moving the Cloud License server from our legacy Widevine proxy to a new Widevine SDK-based service in compliance with Google-driven changes to Widevine. The migration happens in two stages so partners can test before production is switched. If you allowlist individual domains, add wvlssdk.swankmp.net for the testing stage.Who needs to actSwank Streaming Cloud Portal customers: No action is required. Swank will gradually move portals to the new service ahead of the production cutover.Partners with their own players or devices that request licenses directly from the Cloud License server: Please complete the testing steps below during Stage One, before January 12, 2027.Required actionsPoint a test environment to the new service. Change the Widevine license URL in a test build or test device to https://wvlssdk.swankmp.net/. Leave production on https://wvlsmod.swankmp.net.Update any health checks. If your monitoring expects Proxy is proxying! from the license server, update it to accept the new JSON status response before January 12, 2027.Confirm the new service certificate is received and used. If your player stores, caches, or embeds a Widevine service certificate, make sure it accepts and uses the certificate provided by the new service rather than the legacy one.Verify playback. Play several titles on each device type and platform you support, and confirm licenses are granted and playback starts normally.Complete testing before January 12, 2027. On that date, wvlsmod.swankmp.net will begin serving licenses from the new service, so any issues should be resolved during Stage One.After Stage Two, there is no need to use the wvlssdk.swankmp.net URL in production builds.
